The objectives for teaching the Arabic language in the first part of the intermediate level are as follows:
Assist the student with the art of conversation, using classic simplified standard Arabic as the method of expression. Additionally, provide students with the ability to learn and speak Arabic fluently with confidence.
In "Reading and Archives,” enable students to read texts completely and accurately, emulating the teacher's method of reading. Furthermore, correct any errors students may have in understanding and reading the different texts.
Allow the student in "Grammar and Dictation" to gradually learn the basic language order while observing dictation and grammar rules. Also, learn to write connected sentences composed of simple texts that illustrate the vocabulary and rules taught.
Permit the student in “Verbal and Written Expression" to practice verbal expression techniques in order to vary individual style and technique. Teach the student to use acquired expressions and enhance those expressions using personal observations through individual and team activities. Finally, to analyze a text to gain understanding, and the ability to explain, summarize and remark upon it.
جاء في الأهداف الخاصة للتعليم، في مستويات المرحلة الإبتدائية والمرحلة المتوسطة ، أن تعليم اللغة العربية في هذه المستويات يرمي إلى أهداف نوجزها بما يلي
جعل التلميذ قادراً في "المحادثة" على استخدام العربية الفصحى المبسطة وسيلة تعبير، وعلى الكلام بطلاقة وجرأة، وعلى توظيف الكلام في التعبير عن أغراض مختلفة.
جعل التلميذ قادراً في "القراءة والمحفوظات" على قراءة نصوص مضبوطة بالشكل التام، وعلى محاكاة طريقة المعلم النموذجية في أداء النصوص المقروءة، وتصحيح العثرات التي يقع فيها، وفهم النص وقراءة أنواع مختلفة من المكتوبات في محيطه.
جعل التلميذ قادراً في "القواعد والإملاء" على التعرف المتدرج بنظام اللغة وقواعدها الأساسية، والتمرس بالقواعد التطبيقية العملية، وملاحظة بعض مبادئ الإملاء والقواعد في النصوص، وكتابة جمل مترابطة تؤلف نصاً بعيداً عن التكلف يتضمن مفردات تبرز إحدى القواعد في النصوص.
جعل التلميذ قادراً في "التعبير الشفوي والكتابي" على التمرس ببعض تقنيات التعبير الشفوي، وتنويع أساليب التعبير وتقنياته، واستخدام تعابير مكتسبة وإغنائها ببعض الإضافات الذاتية، وتوسيع موضوع انطلاقاً من تصميم معد بغية الوصول إلى تصميم موضوع وتوسيعه في إطار عمل فردي أو فريقي (جماعي)، ودراسة نص فهماً وشرحاً وتلخيصاً وتعليقاً، ومحاكاة أساليب بعض النصوص في نشاطات فردية وفريقية.
