My First Math was designed to activate and stimulate neural

ولا يملك الدماغ عند الولادة أي معلومات عن العالم ويتم تكوينه بالتعلم. والتعلم يؤدي إلى تكوين الشبكات العصبية. والإثارة المتكررة لسلسلة من الخلايا العصبية يزيد من نشاطها وإثارتها، وغياب الإثارة يؤدي إلى إغلاق نقطة التقاء الخلايا، ونشاط الخلايا يؤثر على وظائفها. ونقول هنا بأن استخدام هذا الكتاب يؤدي إلى تنشيط وإثارة الخلايا العصبية ويجعل الدماغ يقوم بوظائفه بصورة أفضل.
واستخدام هذا الكتاب باكراً يؤدي إلى بناء وصلات عصبية، إذ يخبرنا العلماء أن هناك أوقاتاً تستطيع فيها أجزاء معينة من الدماغ أن تتعلم معلومات جديدة بسهولة أكبر من أن تتعلمها في وقت آخر. ويطلق العلماء على هذه الأوقات اسم "نوافذ فرص التعلم". بعض هذه النوافذ تفتح ثم تغلق أثناء السنوات القليلة الأولى من الحياة.
