The Basic program contains 5 hours of audio-only, effective language learning with real-life spoken practice sessions and is designed as an effective way to introduce you to the Pimsleur method of language learning. When you finish this course you will have attained basic communication skills in your target language. Each program is the first 10 lessons of a Pimsleur 30 lesson Comprehensive Program. Each lesson contains the parts for a regular Pimsleur lesson, except there is no introduction to Reading because there is no time in 10 lessons to establish a useful relationship between the target language sound system and the spelling system of the language. This is included only in Comprehensive Programs. The Basic program is the perfect way to preview the Pimsleur Teaching Method because it is designed as both a little taste of a language, as well as an Introduction to a full 30-lesson Comprehensive Level I Program.
