Introduction to the Authors’ Committee
The sixth level of Al-Amal series for Learning Arabic appears in two parts: Reading and Comprehension book, and Exercise book.
In brief, the objectives of the two books are as the follows. The learner is expected to:
  1. Acquire the correct, fluent, and expressive reading skills of particular kinds of discourses (narrative/ description/ dialogue/ article/etc.)
  2. Find answers by reading the text silently and in a comprehensive manner
  3. Reflect verbally and in written format about live situations using new phrases, structures, and lexicons to build his vocabulary one by one; and to be able to use vocabulary in suitable contexts.
  4. Keep identifying new rules in Grammar, syntax, and drawing; and practice using them correctly verbally and in written format.
We focused in the two books to gradually teach our children the Arabic language through rich content that relates to them their culture and Arabic/Islamic roots, and at the same time, teaching this content in a manner reflecting their real lives. As a result, it builds their lexical glossary and helps them to excel in their reading skills, acquire language, and helps them in the ability to use and conduct it in a way that accommodates their age and mental level.
We also worked to towards including in the various texts discourse, meaning and styles in order to regard the language specialty in its live communicative form, and to enrich the student’s linguistic, stylistic, and semantic knowledge. We included at the end of the book a story. This story is fun, interesting, and useful, encouraging the student in reading and silent reading.
We made this book suitable for our modern times, encouraging and desired by children, who are distracted by various knowledge aids to digital, visual, and audio media. We had to insert lively, amusing, modern media and aids that narrowed the scope of the classical model of the school book, so that it retain its first position.
We turned it from its paper copy form to a digital form. We inserted a CD* for each level to revise all knowledge and activities. We reproduced it in a way to ensure it is fun and light at first, and to be easily accessible, and ensuring the well-acceptance of student, and his first respond towards it, and to be user-friendly, both in the classroom - during the lesson - or at home, with the help of the teacher or without it, and so forth. The purpose of this digital aid is to expand the circle of the student’s independency and prepare him for self-learning.
And believing that the educational process supervisor is the most acknowledged with the level of his learners, we rely on his competence to adapt the lesson according to their level and to overcome difficulties stated in the book which may prevent the learning process and delay the learner’s progression in a right manner.
We hope this publication and its media aids will meet the learner and teacher’s needs. And we hope from you, the user of the book, to provide us constructive feedback to level us with the book’s layout and content for general benefit and to fulfill its purpose and objectives.

المستوى السادس من سلسلة الأمل لتعليم اللغة العربية بجزأيه: كتاب القراءة والتعبير وكتاب التمارين نجمل أهداف الكتابين فيما يلي:
  1. أن يكتسب المتعلم مهارة القراءة السليمة والمسترسلة والمعبرة في بعض أنواع الخطاب (السرد/ الوصف/ الحوار/ المقال الصحفي...)
  2. أن يقرأ فقرات النصوص وجملها فراءة صامتة وواعية قصد البحث عما هو مطلوب.
  3. أن يعبر شفويا وكتابيا عن مواقف حية ومجسدة باستعمال صيغ وتراكيب ومفردات ديدة ليبني زاده اللغوي شيئا فشيئا ويكون قادرا على توظيف هذا الزاد في السياقات التواصلية المناسبة.
  4. أن يواصل التعرف على قواعد جديدة في النحو والتصريف والرسم والتدريب على استعمالها استعمالا سليما في تعبيره الشفوي والكتابي.

    Student Textbook:
    The Student Textbooks are comprised of 24 units: 66 basic lessons of new material, plus an additional 6 units for revision. Each basic unit contains 4 lessons of new material, including dialog text, expressions, and vocabulary, and communication exercises. These units contain conversations, pronunciations and expressions, grammatical structures, listening, reading, thinking, writing, and extra activities, such as selections of Qur’an, ahadith and Nasheed; where the teacher books include a midterm and final test. Answer keys can be found in the teacher's manuals.

    Activity Book:
    The activity book simply enhance the material found within the student textbooks. They mainly concentrate on writing skills with some review of verbal skills. Each contains many different activities which can be done at school or at home, such as coloring and painting pages; word matches; reading letters and sentences; writing words, letters, and numbers; and answering questions. Some of the activities should be completed at home with a parent to strengthen the relationship between home and school.

    This series seeks to teach children Arabic and enhance the linguistic skills of non-Arabic speakers. The objectives are:
    1. To make the Arabic language appealing to students and enable them to understand spoken Arabic.
    2. To assist students in reading Arabic correctly, speaking it properly, and understanding it.
    3. To enrich students' linguistic resources so that they can form correct Arabic sentences.
    4. To educate students about the Arabic language heritage and Islamic culture.
    5. To allow students to broaden their horizons and learn other subjects delivered in Arabic.
    6. To help students learn to recite the Holy Quran, understand its meanings, and perform Islamic rituals in Arabic.
    This series is based on five fundamentals:
    1. Psychology
    2. Linguistics

    5. Sociology
    Students will learn the following linguistic skills in this order:
    1. Listening
    2. Speaking
    3. Reading
    4. Writing
    Listening and speaking skills will:
    1. Accustom students to Arabic sounds.
    2. Give students an awareness of the changing meanings that can occur by changing the tone.
    3. Allow students to mimic the teacher in speech.
    4. Allow students to understand speech.
    5. Give students the opportunity to listen to Arabic conversations.
    6. Give students the opportunity to take part in regular conversation.
    Reading skills are taught according to the Synthesis Method, which is as follows:

    • The Partial Method
    • The Combination Method
    • The Analysis Method
    • The Vocal Method
    Writing skills are based on direct dictation. The different dictation methods include:
    • Imparted Dictation
    • Visual Dictation
    • Audible Dictation
    • Experimental Dictation

    Completion Time:
    The books in this series are intended for use in schools. The time needed for each lesson is measured by the time of a standard class, which is 45 minutes. We call each class an instructional hour, meaning that the days specified to study the book may increase or decrease according to the hours specified in a day of studying.

    Teaching Language:
    Teachers should speak, explain, analyze, and discuss in formal fluent Arabic. They should not use an intermediary language at all.
