Joshua Adams has always been a wild child. He graduated from reckless childhood accidents to girls and alcohol. By the time he is twenty-three he has three children and a failing marriage. He leaves his wife, after yet another argument, and moves in with some Muslim guys he knows. With the patient encouragement of his friends, Joshua begins to study Islam. Six months later he becomes a Muslim and looks forward to starting a new life. But his fresh start is overshadowed by echoes from his past. First Joshua must conquer the old habits which haunt him after the initial excitement of his conversion has worn off. He must continue his new life as a practicing Muslim while facing difficulties from his past life: a bitter ex-wife, three children whom he abandoned, and strained relationships with his mother and two older brothers. Joshua makes the greatest jihad-the jihad of the self-as he struggles to overcome his past and become a true Muslim. Echoes, the first book in the Echoes Series, is a story of determination and love.

The Day of Resurrection: In the Light of the Qur'an and Sunnah (Islamic Creed Series Vol. 6).
Belief in the Day of Resurrection is one of the central tenets of Islamic faith. It is a belief that was preached by all the prophets, and it is a belief that makes sense of a sometimes incomprehensible world. Belief in the Day of Resurrection and the final Judgement brings benefits in this world, on the individual and social level. It makes the individual focus on what is in his or her ultimate best interests, guiding the person’s actions in ways that will benefit him or her and bring happiness in this world and the next. On the broader social level, this belief imposes controls on human greed and restrains people from committing transgressions for which they would ultimately have to answer.
The Qur’an and the Sunnah are filled with detailed information about what will come to pass on that great Day. Drawing upon these sources of Islam, Dr. ‘Umar al-Ashqar takes us through the events of that Day, from the first Trumpet-blast and the end of life in the universe and on earth, through the terrors of the Resurrection and the ordeals of the Judgement, to the final entry to the place of eternal abode, in Paradise or Hell. This is a book which deserves to be on Muslim bookshelves in homes, schools, and Islamic centres, for it deals with a topic of vital importance to every believer.

This message is for all humans. It is for every seeker of truth that has questions about Islam, God (Allah) and what the purpose of our existence is. These and many other questions are discussed and answered in this book.
When we consider for how many generations religious persecution and ignorance have prevailed in the West, we begin to understand why Islam is a largely misunderstood religion. Islamic ideals are unknown by most people. "This is not a surprise," says Dr. Maurice Bucaille in the introduction of his book, "The Bible, the Qur'an and Science."
The presentation of Islam in this book is brief and provides direct answers to many questions, as Bucaille does his best to answer as many common questions and correct most misconceptions. This book will open the doors to a new dimension of thought, allowing you to realize the importance of your role as a human in this universe and your personal relationship with our Creator, Allah (God) Almighty.
You will come to learn about Allah, His final revelation, the last of his prophets and messengers, Islam, the role of humans in this life, and other related topics. Please note that the Spanish texts of the Qur'an and the Prophet Muhammad (s) mentioned in this book are only a rough translation and outline of their meanings, since their original language is Arabic.

Esposito, an internationally renowned expert on Islam, traces the development of this dynamic faith and its impact on world history and politics. It is ideally suited for use in courses on Islam, comparative religions, and Middle Eastern history and culture.

Reviews
"This is an excellent, comprehensive, and highly accessible introduction to Islam and its civilization; Muslims and their societies in the pre-modern to the modern period; and contemporary intellectual and political trends. In my opinion, it really is the single best introduction to Islam and Muslims today. The book keeps getting better and better with each new edition!"--Asma Afsaruddin, University of Notre Dame
"I have to commend OUP for its commitment to revising and updating this important book. Esposito writes in a lucid, accessible, and direct style that allows the book to be an excellent introduction for novice students. Esposito illustrates the rare ability of being comprehensive without being reductive."--Febe Armanios, Middlebury College

John L. Esposito
John L. Esposito is one of America's leading authorities on Islam. Now, in this brilliant portrait of Islam today-- and tomorrow-- he draws on a lifetime of thought and research to provide an accurate, richly nuanced, and revelatory account of the fastest growing religion in the world.
Here, Esposito explores the major questions and issues that face Islam in the 21st century and that will deeply affect global politics: Is Islam compatible with modern notions of democracy, rule of law, gender equality, and human rights? How representative and widespread is Islamic fundamentalism and the threat of global terrorism? Can Muslim minority communities be loyal citizens in America and Europe? In the midst of these questions, Esposito places an important emphasis on the issue of Islamophobia, the threat it poses, and its vast impact on politics and society in the US and Europe. He also turns the mirror on the US and Europe and paints a revealing portrait of how we appear to Muslims.
Recent decades have brought extraordinary changes in the Muslim world, and in addressing these issues, Esposito paints a complex picture of Islam in all its diversity--a picture of urgent importance as we face the challenges of the coming century.
Reviews
"A Georgetown University professor and well-known scholar of Islam, Esposito analyzes the current and future practice of Islam in this short but insightful volume... Esposito's enthusiasm for his topic makes his book an easy and enlightening read."--Publishers Weekly "Esposito's book is a calculated appeal to the moderate middle ground upon whom the success of Obama's policies depends. Esposito is the right man for the job: he is a leading scholar of modern Islam, with more than 35 books on the subject to his credit, and heads a centre for Christian-Muslim understanding at Georgetown University. Through his scholarship and engaging writing, Esposito proposes the way forward for a better future for both Islam and the west."--The Financial Times "Esposito's newest book is a well-researched, richly nuanced portrait of Islam. Though manageable at 234 pages, the book is both comprehensive and in-depth. His choices are fascinating and provide a road map for the myriad ways in which Islam is changing and adapting to new challenges. The Future of Islam is a step in the right direction."--The Christian Science Monitor
"The Future of Islam will be welcomed by readers who want a solid overview of where Islam and Muslims are now... Esposito provides, in short, the kind of information that is all too often lacking in U.S. foreign policy approaches to Muslims and the Muslim world."--America Magazine
