“The Itqan series to teach Arabic to non-native speakers” teaches the basic skills, which are listening, speaking, reading, and writing, in addition to linguistic structure (syntax and morphology) in the form of linguistic patterns. The content is presented in accordance with the latest research on education, and it takes into consideration the students’ environment, providing Islamic Arabic as the target language environment. One of the strategies that the authors used is education through a variety of activities that revolve around vocabulary; structure; sentences; exciting games; interesting, useful, and strange stories; functional daily life conversations; and songs.
The fourth level consists of three books. The student’s book consists of twenty lessons, each including behavioral, emotional, and cognitive activities. The second book is the activities and exercises book, which also includes twenty lessons and aims to reinforce the content in the student’s book through the use of games and real-life situations. The third book is the teacher’s guide. The teacher’s guide presents instructions for teaching Arabic to children in general and teaching this series in particular. At the beginning of each lesson, the expected outcomes to be fulfilled are outlined, in addition to guidance on how to do the activities and present them to students.
Finally, we provided all of the answers to the activities in the student’s and activity books, using the same arrangement presented in the two previous books, so that teachers will find the answers of the first lesson in the student’s book, followed by the answers of the first lesson in the activity book , and so on to the end of the twentieth lesson.
This guide is a helper and an instructor to the teacher. The guide is accompanied by a CD that contains the listening scripts for the lessons in the student’s book. The teacher’s guide is also recorded in it.
We hope that the teachers who use this series stay in contact with us, so that we can continue to improve on it and enrich its upcoming prints.
We dedicate this work to God Almighty, and we pray that it helps us teach the beautiful Arabic language. He is all-hearing, near, and responds to our prayers.

Level 3 in the Afaq series builds upon the foundations laid in previous levels. Students are taught to form sentences using appropriate vocabulary. There is continuing practice with word formation. The past and present tenses are focused on and the student is taught to distinguish between different grammatical forms. Now greater emphasis is placed on sentence formation and conversational Arabic where alphabetical knowledge is reinforced and nunation (tanween) is introduced. Conversational skills are further developed using a broader range of vocabulary. Writing skills are focused upon, and Islamic poetry, hadith, and some surahs are studied.
A workbook accompanies the textbook in order to enhance comprehension and writing skills. This is a substantial workbook as students need plenty of practice at this stage of language study. The tenses which are introduced in the textbook are covered, as well as masculine and feminine nouns and other grammatical concepts. Workbooks are printed on high-quality paper.
