ط وطريف تتناول القصّة بأحداثها مواضيعًا عديدة وأهمّها موضوع المصروف، يفرح مروان كثيرًا عندما يخبره والده أنه يستطيع أخذ مايشاء، ضمن حدود، من دكان الحي ومن دكان المدرسة أثناء سفر والديه، لم يفهم مروان ماقصده والده بكلمة حدود، ولهذا أخذ يسرف في شراء السكاكر والحلويات لأصدقائه في المدرسة الذين أطلقوا عليه لقب “مروان الكريم الذي لا يدفع”، يعتقد مروان أن لدى والده بطاقة عجيبة تمكّن من سحب المال من آلة في الشارع متى أراد، ويحتفظ بهذه الفكرة كسرّ ولا يخبر به أحدًا ، يفاجأُ والد مروان عند عودته من السفر بفواتير دكانة المدرسة والحي ، وعندها يخبر مروان والده عن سر البطاقة العجيبة فيأخذه والده إلى المصرف ليشرح له كيف يودع المال الذي كسبه من عمله ويعرّفه ببطاقةالائتمان .
ومن خلال أحداث القصة يستنتج الطفل أن على الانسان أن يتحكّم بمصروفه وفقًا لإمكانيّاته، وأنّ الأهل يعملون بجهد للحصول على المال ولا يمكنهم دائماً تنفيذ طلبات أولادهم التي قد تتخطّى الحدود. من الممكن استخدام القصة لتعزيز الذات عند الطفل وذلك بتسليط الضوء على الجوانب الإيجابية الكامنة في شخصيته والتي من شأنها أن تجعله محبوبًا بين أصدقائه في المدرسة دون السعي لاجتذابهم بطريقة ما ، كما تظهر القصة أهمية تنظيم المصروف وتحمّل الطفل المسؤولية منذ السنوات الأولى في المدرسة.
تعطي القصة الطفل فرصة للتمعن بمفردات مختلفة مثل كلمة “المصرف” ومن خلال الرسومات يستطيع التأمل في هذا المكان وهنا يمكن تعريف الطفل ببعض المفردات التي تستخدم في المصرف مثل(سحب، إيداع،…الخ) . .
